Organization
Overview
ICOS Sweden is an infrastructure of national importance with funding from the
Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet). Swedish researchers were
among the pioneers when it came to measuring the exchange of greenhouse gases
between ecosystems and the atmosphere. ICOS Sweden is building on this tradition
with collaboration among researchers at different institutions.
The scheme below is an overview how ICOS Sweden is organized. Please choose from the menu on the left to get more information about the different organs.

Coordination Office
The coordination office is responsible for the day to day work within ICOS Sweden and
the follow-up of activities, as well as for reporting to the ICOS Sweden board and to the
Swedish Research Council.
In addition, the coordination office is the contact point between the ICOS Sweden partners,
between ICOS Sweden and
pan-European ICOS RI
and communicates with stakeholder and external users.
The ICOS Sweden coordination office is hosted by the Centre for Environmental and Climate Research (CEC) at Lund University. CEC is part of the Faculty of Science.
Its position of the director is shared by Prof Janne Rinne (science director) and Dr Maj-Lena Linderson (coordination director). Please click here for contact details.
Board
The board members represent both potential stakeholder interests
and different scientific fields which are of relevance for the ICOS infrastructure.
The board is responsible for the economy and the general strategy of ICOS Sweden.

Scientific Advisory Committee
ICOS Sweden has a scientific advisory committee (SAC), appointed by the board,
consisting of independent members selected from internationally leading
scientific institutions or international organizations active in the fields
of monitoring or modelling of greenhouse gas fluxes, or their applications.
The role of the SAC is to follow the activities and operation of ICOS Sweden and give advice on the scientific and international development of the infrastructure.
